Quiz night for Christian Partners in Africa

 By Tony Villiers

It has been a privilege to be involved with Christian Partners in Africa for some years now and with the church to support the excellent work being done to develop and resource St Paul’s Primary School in Rukungiri, Uganda. In such a poor nation, the educational opportunities offered by the project are life-changing for children and families, as well as being an investment in the potential for future social change. You can check out some photos of the school here.

This Friday we’ll be having another of our hotly contested quiz events to raise money for the project at Middleton Primary School at 7.30pm. As usual, the table bookings have reached their max, but there may still be a few places left on quiz teams so if you’d like to come it’s worth talking to others in the church to see if they have a spare place. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until next time! Our quizmaster, MK’s poet laureate Mark Niel, with his gift for pithy rhymes and spontaneous ukulele playing, is sure to make the night so entertaining it won’t even feel like a charity event! There’ll also be a chance to hear about the latest work going on in Rukungiri from Mark’s lovely assistant, Denise, and an opportunity to buy beautiful and fairly-traded jewellery handmade by ladies in Uganda, the profits of which will go back into families and communities in Africa. Well worth supporting, then! So, let’s have fun and at the same time do some good. In fact, brothers and sisters, let’s ‘never tire of doing what is good’ (2 Thessalonians 3:13)!
